Sadness
by Debra White

Hello, Debra,

Excellent entry for the

NaPoWriMo 2021 challenge....you have been busy :)

Every night I light up a candle to give thanks to God for my children's and my reasons to be thankful.. life, love, health, and work.

Well done!

This delightful poem, which rebelliously defies sadness, is very infectious, and the rhymes and flow bounce along, with ease of reading. This, is very enjoyable to read, and I agree--who wants to write about sadness, when they are grateful for being alive?!
I love all of this, and especially love, the rhymes, "blessed" and "chest." This is lighthearted and thoughtful, as well as going against the grain by writing about gladness instead of sadness. Brava, dear writer!
Jesse

This is very nice and I like the way you began it. I don't know what the list is, but if you don't feel sad, you can't write about it. If gladness is currently in your heart, go ahead and let it out. Let fill your voice, motivate your pen and tell the world. We hear you.

An uplifting and finely rhymed write Debra. If this is how you feel them you must write from the heart. I have written sad poems when I have felt sad, this is how it has to be with a poet, it is good that you feel so positive, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Sadness can only be caused by lack of love. We can all get a refill to change the "S" in sadness to "Gl" for gladness. All we have to do is call someone and say: "I miss you." Watch the "S" disappear and the "Gl" emerge with each inspiring breath. The "Gl" is an acronym for Good Living.

Nice...John

I like the way you think! Who made "The List"--is it your own challenge for the day-by-day itinerary? Jaunty and upbeat--you nailed the closer. Cheers. LIZ

Hi Liz :) I nabbed 'The List' from Google... I needed a prompt for each day, other wise I would've not written anything! Best wishes, Debra

I love it, and I love the picture you have chosen. You are so right, we have so many things to be thankful for, we are blessed. So instead of being sad, we can smile and be happy

I think sometimes to follow an edict of others and write a poem on sadness, it may not be right for us, anyway I think this world could do with a "dose" of hope not sadness, so well done, I agree with you Debra, well done, blessings Roy

Well, I'm thankful for your wonderful poem of "gladness." There's too much sadness in the world. We can be thankful and glad for the things we do have - like life!
