Still smiling here, my lady! ;) So glad you enjoyed this little one, Ronni -- I had fun with it imagining some little faces 'listening' to the story being told! ;) Thanx for the congrats and keep a smile on that beautiful face! ;) Yvette

The spelling of gryphon threw me for a moment. I usually see it as griffin. I like your spelling. This is indeed a magic moment. I did not know the ears of corn could hear. Fascinating fact. This is a fun read with lots of whimsey and great imagination.

You did a super job with your contest entry, YM. I believe all children from 1-99 would love having this read aloud to them. Your presentation is beautiful--the image--perfect, the color scheme--striking, the rhymes and smooth flow--enjoyable, and the fun message of fantasy and use of imagination--stimulating. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Hello Yvette, you have covered the season of autumn very well with both metaphor and personification - and some mythical content thrown in for good measure. Good rhyme and rhythm consistent throughout. I like the line 'A cornfield ready to eavesdrop.' - clever mix of fact and metaphor. I'll let you know if I find a gryphon LOL. Well done - regards Dorothy x

nicely done poem for the child in all of us. Nicely brings together the joys of the fall season to life and the promise of winter to come to darken the land

Charming whimsy--brilliant bit with ears of corn--kids will love this!
(breakout s/b break out; lay s/b lie unless you intend to speak in the expression common to your young audience--not sure if word and for/word count as rhyme.)
