Well written friend Dean, as always, it seems the octogram has become poetic flavour of the moment, I'm not sure why, but so well done with this form my form as it's in your favourite genre, nicely formatted my friend, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy.
It's the recent potlatch challenge that was issued which spurred all the renewed interest in Sally Yocom's created form, the Octogram.
Cheers...

I really don't know which is the more scary, your words or your pictures, Dean. These are terrifying! I think the Octogram is an excellent choice for the words you've written, the speeding up of pace in the centre pulls you into the swamp even more. You really do have a remarkable talent of being able to scare the pants of people! This was excellent. :) Sandra xxx

Thanks for reading AGHAST, Missy, and for the awesome comments and exceptional stellar rating.

More than any of that, I'm just damn glad you enjoyed it.

I've been truly possessed by the putrid green bog and I stare aghast. A scary rhyme and flow in the poem. I've been captured lol.

Thanks very much for the R&R, Rosie.
As far as being "captured" by that noxious, deadly green gas, there are over-the-counter relief aides available to help you deal with that particular problem.
GAS-X comes immediately to mind, heh-heh.

-
Uh-uh, hang on, Rosie, I'll be right there to help you out.
Leechiana prefers men. I can't say why she would have grabbed you, perosnally. I must have a serious heart to heart with that demonic harlot!
My sincerest apologies...
~Dean

Don't mention it in the slightest, lol. :}

Hi Dean, you do scare the hell out of me. What an amazing poem you've written here, and the presentation is to die for. No pun intended. I wouldn't like to be whispered to, not that I think I would go anywhere near a place called Bile Bog. Wonderful poem. Makes me smile. All the best. Ulla:)))

Hi Dean,
If it has a name like Bile Bog, I avoid it like the plague. So, no worries about anything whispering to me. ;)
This was a fun read. Short horror often puts a smile on my face; I don't know why. The only horror that's truly horrible is when I come to care about a character who meets an unimaginable end. Like Craig in The Langoliers. Yeah, he was a creep, but it wasn't his fault.
I enjoyed this. Excellent word choice throughout.
Write on,
Lana

Well, that's because horror stimulates the same chemical responses in your body sexual activity creates, Word Junkie.
That's not speculation, it's a scientific fact.
Thanks for the great R&R.
Tale care...

That was pretty amazing, in content, read, storyline, rhyme, presentation, slime, horror, fear, death. Well done, Dean! That throbbing visual will keep me up tonight. Not that you would ever find me wandering a swamp prior to reading this, but now for certain!

Aw, c'mon, Mary. Live a little! Heh-heh-heh...
I'm an amateur ghost hunter, so I go to all sorts of strange and creepy places in the dead of night. many times I often go alone as for some reason I can't get any of my friends to accompany to cemeteries and the like after dark.
I can't say why, really...
Thanks again for the R&R.

So you've been hanging out back of the Antioch Primitive Church of God next to the railroad tracks that runs through the Okefenokee Swamp. There the swamp gases are eerie and takes on different shapes. As a teen, just having moved from Jacksonville to Waycross, it scared the crap out of me. You do stand there aghast.
There are a lot of ghost stories for that area and you were closer to truth than you know. Cool beans.

I know of a few swampy locations which are more famous and popular places for ghost hunters to hang out than many people might think, Linda. Swamps and bogs hold a lot of mystique. Kind of like the deserts, only wetter.
I sincerely appreciate you telling me of your own experiences with such a place.
Thanks for all the lovely stars, too.
Much obliged, Linda.

This is great, Dean. Do you know if Sally passed away or just no longer writes. Her book is a wonderful one, the first book on poetry forms I purchased. Love your poem as always, my friend~Debbie

I know she is no longer a member here, but that is all I do know, Debbie.
Sally was an exceptionally kind lady, and I really miss interacting with her here.
Take care, and thanks for the R&R.
