Life Is Song

by sunnilicious

There was a time my parents treasured me...
And we moo'ed about Old MacDonald at his farm
With some oink-oinks, bahhhs and monkey sounds everywhere;
But those Mother Goose nursery rhymes held more charm.

I really knew how to sing and dance
I could get my groove on when that phone rang too,

"I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart".

I visited the library, shows and a concert,
But I was young and scared of everything.
My dad loved his organ and Bollywood music;
He would play, sing and dance me some chutney.

My late mother had an oddly pretty voice...
Once a week, she sang the Koran in Arabic
And enjoyed radio music as her top choice,
We sang Christmas songs with joy, but a bit syllabic.

Day 14 - Write a poem that deals with the poems, poets, and other people who inspired you to write poetry.

Note: My father isn't bald. Although, I have a late uncle. Anyway, I picked a picture that was on FanArtReview to accompany my poem.
