Fire Knocking At Our Door
by Gypsy Blue Rose
In honor of the victims of the Southern California Fires

The fire’s knocking at our doors and heartbeats run fast gainst time. ≈♦≈ Folks jump over charred hurdles looking through their burnt homes.

First of All, thank you for all your prayers and kind words. I really appreciate it. Some of you have asked how I am doing so I'm giving you an update on our situation.
The Eaton Fire, in Pasadena, is a mile and a half from our home. It's a miracle we haven't been told to evacuate yet. The firemen are doing a great job containing the fire but if the wind changes direction, we will have to go. We are packed and ready to leave. My daughter who lives up north has offered her house so we will go there if things get worse. It's very stressful and we are all exhausted. I will let you all know if things change.
The strong winds and dry terrain is making the fire grow rapidly. The wind storm is supposed to pick up on Tuesday. Some embers are carried by the wind for miles and start new fires.
JUEJU is a type of Chinese poetry that is made up of four lines, made up of two couplets, with each line having five or seven syllables, rhymed or free verse. The English version follows the same rules. Jueju poems originated in the 7th century (618-907). They express a variety of styles.
Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem.
