Left Behind

crow flights over field

    leaving his old friend behind —

raindrops down the straw man's eyes

KATAUTA is an unrhymed Japanese form consisting of 19 syllables with a 5/7/7 pattern. They are usually humorous but don't have to be. A pair of katautas is called a sedoka. click here for more info
