I'm sure if members of his family and close friends got there hands on this essay the tears would not end.
A masterful written, soulful piece. The one liners made me laugh and remember with wonderful memories. Thank you for writing this.

I'm so very pleased that you enjoyed this piece and I thank you for your lovely review and kind words. I wanted to do a post that honored Robin in the way his family requested, so its good to know that the one liners were well received.

Thank you so very much for the very generous six stars.

This is a beautiful tribute to Robin Williams. I also loved him dearly. He hid a lot behind that smile ... a lot of pain suffering from depression, and then to be diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. My heart broke when I heard the news. He was brilliant, funny beyond words and just a beautiful person. Thank you for writing this and for incorporating so many of his great quotes. God Bless! Pat

I'm happy you enjoyed this tribute to Robin. He was hit with more than his share of life's burdens and being the gentle and sensitive soul that he was, he reached his breaking point.

I thank you for your review and your warm and loving words for Robin, as well.

You are quite welcome. I wanted to write a tribute to him myself, but somehow couldn't bring myself to do it. I am so glad that you did. Blessings ~ Pat

Hi, Marisa,

This is such a wonderful tribute to Robin Williams. So sad to see someone so gifted carry so much misery inside. Hard to know what demons he faced to lead him down the path he took, however I hope he has at last found peace---he so deserves it.

Nicely penned. Love the sketch of him---awesome.

Cheers & Blessings

Your tribute to Robin Williams giving glimpses of such a talented icon was engrossing. Thanks for giving a few of his best humorous remarks. While listing them, you have mentioned his name at the end of each quote.I wonder if this repetition could have been avoided. Instead of mourning over his death, let us follow what his family members wanted - to celebrate his life contributing joy and happiness to so many.

That was what this tribute was all about, celebrating Robin through his humor, hence the quotes. I believe he would have wanted to be remembered in this way.

    Thank you for the read.

This is a well put together story about Robin Williams.
I just sent a review to person about Paul Laurence Dunbar poem about grin and lies. It is too bad we can't sense this before it is too late. We have a habit of giving big people "their space."

This will go down with all the other memorable works.

Good luck with it.

The Paul Lawrence Dunbar poem is definitely apropos concerning Robin's life. He wore the mask of comedy as his disguise, but it was the dual mask of tragedy that was actually his internal life, and the one he ultimately succumb to.

We do tend to give those among us who seem larger than life, a vast amount of space in which to operate. Somehow our exaltation of them makes it impossible for them to seek help when needed. It seems those who possess the "gift of the magi" are the ones who are the most tormented; they pay a high price for their talent.

Robin's star burned brilliantly while he was with us and we will have his body of work to remember him by in years to come.

Thank you for you thoughtful review, I greatly appreciate it.

I too adored Robin Williams and will miss him greatly. I already was familiar with some of the quotes here but they are so much fun to read again. I am glad he made movies so we can watch him and laugh again.

Very thorough and entertaining tribute to a true comic genius. I liked his work, too, tho my husband found him rather annoying much of the time. Still, when he hit it just right, as in the examples you give here, no one could touch him for clever wit. :)
