happykat4: Phyillis, I asked fan support but I want to make sure I do things correctly. My question was about a previous post. The question is: I added an additional verse to a poem I have previously posted. I had reviews on it, but I want to re promote it with the new verse... How do I do this so it doesn't come across as though it is a new post. Can you tell me how to do this? -
Muffins: Hi Phyillis, I changed the rating from a 4 to a 5. Sorry about the slip of the fingers. -

Dean Kuch: Big congrats, Phyllis! You certainly earned it! -
seaglass: Congratulations, keep those chapters coming -
Phyllis Stewart: Thanks so much, everyone. I enjoyed writing the books, but it was YOU who won the trophy for me, since it was my readers that pushed me to the top. A special thank you to Margaret for taking off last year to edit books instead of writing/ posting them. LOL! No one can top her for #1, and I'm pleased to see she has started a new novel this year. I'm looking forward to reading it, along with other books and works of the talented writers here at FanStory, my second home. Hope you all have a wonderful new year. And remember, the only resolution we need is "Keep Writing!" :) -
michaelcahill: I thought sure you were going to take off in June and give me a chance. Hahaha. I can't imagine how far out to sea I would be without your help. Congratulations!! -
judiverse: Congratulations, novelist of the year, and well earned. judiverse -

judiverse: Congratulations on your story of the month win. A very well-deserved honor. judiverse -
Phyllis Stewart: Thanks to all of you readers, who really are the ones who won, since it was only because of terrific, loyal readers that I ended up where I did. I love you guys. :) -

Phyllis Stewart: First, thanks to all who voted for my winning/tieing 5-7-5 entry called "A Terrible Injustice." I never write that sort of teensy tiny thing, but I couldn't resist that prompt, with the true story I had.

Anyway, just really want to say that those who review an entry for a contest and say "good luck in the voting" but don't bother to vote keep the vote totals low. Winning/tieing with 6 votes when the third entry had 5 votes is largely luck, since there were not enough votes to make a fair contest, in my not-so-humble opinion.

I wish more people would check the contest voting booths every day. You may find some stuff there (stories, poems, and authors new to you) that you really like. Read a few entries and maybe you'll get interested in what folks did with the topic. Maybe you'll even decide that one of them is worthy of YOUR vote. Just takes a few minutes, and it improves the site for all, including YOU. :)
flylikeaneagle: I have met many new fans by reading their works on voting day. I review these that i like and vote daily. My favorites I bookcase. Merry Christmas!
    flylikeaneagle -
Selina Stambi: I am a regular voter too, Phyllis. Preach on sista ... this message needs to be heard! -

Phyllis Stewart: Yay! I'm typing on the classic version again. I'm HOME! :)
Selina Stambi: Hurrah! Hurrah!! Amen!!! I'm home too. I felt like a displaced person. -
Margaret Snowdon: Hi, Phyllis - just wanted to congratulate you on your ranking for lst Novelist of the Year - as we are off to Portugal on the 15th for a few weeks - also to wish you good health and happiness for the coming New Year.
    Margaret -
Phyllis Stewart: Thank you, Margaret. Hope your trip was everything you hoped it would be, and you come back relaxed and ready to write. Or edit. Or both. :) -

Phyllis Stewart: Thankfully, Tom has gotten the message from the majority, and we will have our site back to normal in the 'classic' version.

Remember New Coke? Cola lovers complained, so Coca Cola Company brought back "Classic" Coke, so they called it. It didn't take long until both New Coke and "Classic" Coke disappeared in favor of plain old beloved Coca Cola. I predict this site will follow the same path. But it won't matter to me. I'll be drinking Classic FS myself.
granny goes viral: And thank you for the speed as well. I am surprised we didn't shut the whole thing down. LOL. -
Selina Stambi: Classic for me too. -

Phyllis Stewart: Not only is the site claustrophobic with monstrous pics so you can't see much of the top 12 and favorites without endless scrolling, but...

It's so SLOW compared to the old one.

There is nothing better here. It's all WORSE. Tom claims it's an easier interface. Maybe for newbies it is, but it's ugly and gives me a friggin headache.

I don't think I'll stay past Xmas if all the broken features aren't fixed. This is a real shame. The site is ruined, for me at least. I no longer even feel like reading or posting. I hate coming here now.
trimple: Twice now I have written a comment in the 'profile thoughts' but it isn't registering.

I don't know what, Tom's thinking, but this new set up is positively terrible.
It's all very well him 'telling us' that it's better, but are we not the judges of whether something is better or not, given the fact that we are the users?

I foresee a tsunami of members leaving FS. Like you Phyllis, I think it is unlikely that I shall renew my membership.

I'm all for the fact that the site could have done with a face lift, but take it from me, and many others' Tom, you have butchered a perfectly functioning site into a non user friendly, eyesore.

It is very unpleasant to use. Not because I am indifferent to change, but because it is now the pits...

Good luck with your new members.

I truly hope that you take note of what your consistent members think of these 'so called' improvements FS

    Bloody awful...

    -
granny goes viral: Exactly how I feel. -

Phyllis Stewart: I really miss seeing everything at once on the home page. Having to use all these menus is a real pain! And the pictures on the top 12 etc are way too BIG.

That purple bar gave me a headache earlier, and now I try again and the headache is back. I don't think I can even use this site now. :(

Why change the site just to make it harder to use???? Stupid.
Adri7enne: I totally agree about the front page. I liked being able to see everything at a glance. And now these tiny little windows to write our comments in. You get to see only two lines at a time. It's not user friendly at all. You need to have a really good memory or you have to keep scrolling up and down n order to know what you just wrote. These tiny windows are a damn nuisance.! -
granny goes viral: I AM HATING EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS.
I AM PROTESTING BY NOT REVIEWING ANYTHING, JUST GIVING 5. MAY NOT POST EITHER. -

Phyllis Stewart: New is not always better. I miss the old format where we could see everything all at once. Now we are locked in separate rooms and must use a menu to move to another closed-off room. I'm getting claustrophobia. And the whole time that horrrible purrrrple bar at the top, which doesn't scroll away, is pulling my attention and giving me a headache!

I hate the new format, but if things still worked, I might get used to it. A serious problem exists, however: we can no longer highlight words/lines to edit them! Tom has promised to take care of it, though.
shelley kaye: i'm with you, phyllis! i don't like this new look at all....
    -
Julia.: Ditto on the purple bar and the claustrophobic feeling. I miss the clean open feeling of the old site. -

Phyllis passed peacefully on the morning of January 9th, 2020.

She wrote eight novels. ISLAND, SPEECHLESS, REPENTANCE, DETOUR, SNAPSHOTS, DEMON, BLAZE, and CHOICES. Seven are on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle versions, along with the novella The Stone House MURDERS. You also may read some of them for free on this site.

They can all be found here: www.amazon.com/author/phyllisastewart

From Phyllis - I began writing twenty years ago, exclusively poetry until fall of 2011, when for some strange reason (I can guess why, but you wouldn't believe it if I told you), I just started writing a book that went on for 140,000 words. I still love poetry and continue to add to my collection of original poems and favorites by others.

Photo is of me with Charisma's Serendipity, a Tibetan Spaniel puppy I bred. She is now an AKC Grand Champion living with her new owner in CA.

I'm also a member at Fan Art Review, our sister site. I do photo retouching and digital paintings from photos on the side. I have galleries of all my work here:
