Quite a wonderful image, are those real ice sculptures in the front, the colors are astounding, also see Denver Bronco Orange, go Broncs. Please read my book of poems " The Awakening Cantos" by Rick Gardner, my first poems ever. Read slowly, my wife says they are hard to ponder. Have you ever used that word before?. I haven't, she is a lot smarter than I will ever be.

    Hi Rick!
Yes, the ice sculptures are real. Every year in Fairbanks, AK we have the World Ice Art Championships. You can see them at www.icealaska.com Thank you for the kind review.

The ice sculpture is amazing. What detail! And your photograph makes the festivities look warm and inviting.

Good to see you back and organizing the NaPo. I won't be participating this year other than reviews from time to time. :)

Wishing you great luck with the Contest Committee with this gem, Kim.

Gloria

    Thank you so much, Gloria!
I am honored and appreciative of your six star exceptional rating! The ice sculptures are amazing every year! That was taken on Evelyn's 1st birthday, we went to the Ice Park to see how she would like all of the pretty colors. We were lucky, it was a warmer evening. I look forward to sharing more with you throughout NaPo! I hope all is well with you, too!

This is a nicely written piece of understanding the Alaskan weather and how the Alaskans look at the weather. I appreciate it very much and I wish you the very best with your writing.

An excellent entry for the Tanka Poetry contest. Very nice Tanka with lots of cool information in it. I have always wanted to visit Alaska but I don't think I have the strength to live there and i do believe it takes strength! Good luck in the contest.

No wonder I had never heard of the word apricity, an archaic word, (my spell checker didn't like it, heh heh) which means sun's warmth in winter. So I can understand the Alaskan appreciation of sun at this time, beautifully wrutten, well done, blessings Roy

    Thank you, Roy!

Yes, it is an archaic word, but so relevant to this time of year. Thank you,

Does Alaska ever have warm days I wonder! I would love to visit, but I hate the snow! I enjoyed the melting here as April has a spring promise, love Dolly x x x

Thanks for teaching me the word, "apricity"! How fun that you can experience that and I'm sure have such long and hard winters, Alaskans are very sensitive to any increase in warmth! Best wishes in the contest!

    Thank you, Helen!

Yes, we are truly enjoying the warmer days. There is more snow in the forecast for next week, but we are hopeful for Spring.
