patcelaw: This is what the publisher of my book sent today as their review of my book. The next step is to get it to the printing once we ok it this weekend.

patcelaw: Just a couple of hours ago the manuscript was uploaded to the publisher. It should be on the market by Easter.

patcelaw: My book is very close to being ready to submit to the publisher, I am getting excited.

patcelaw: I do not usually make a resolution at the start of the year, but this year I will. I will try each day to do something new that I may have difficulty with because of my limited vision. Last year I was able to conquer a couple of troubling things and this year I hope make new conquering fetes.

patcelaw: I am taking steps to possibly having my book published.

patcelaw: I am going to be taking leave from the site for about a month. My eyesight is getting worse and it is quite hard for me to read and review. I also will be getting used to new glasses.

patcelaw: I would like all my fan story friends to pray for me and my family. My twin brother passed away about 20 hours ago. It is very difficult to lose a sibling, but doubly difficult to lose a twin, He was my womb mate, and as we grew up he was my protector and my very best friend.

patcelaw: Has anyone heard form Sasha of late? I have not seen her in over a week>

patcelaw: I would like you all to pray for my family at this time. My youngest brother died early this morning. Pray especially for his wife Flora, as she has lost her lover of over 35 years and this is going to be hard for her.

patcelaw: Yesterday, I became a great grandmother for the 8th time, 5 great grandsons and 3 great granddaughters.
Today one of the great grandsons is 15 years old. How much more can an old lady be blessed? My oh my as my quiver is getting full.

patcelaw: I saw the eye specialist today and I have the early signs of glaucoma. Hopefully we have caught it early and that there are some steps we can take to help my sight.

patcelaw: I took a very hard fall today and spent several hours in the emergency room, after being transported by ambulance to the hospital. The x-rays and the CAT showed I did not have any broken bones, just quite a lot of bruises outward as well as internally. I am quite sore and will need to be needing to be treat my body gingerly.

patcelaw: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Michael Cahill. He truly will be missed. His poetry was always so well written and presented beautifully.

patcelaw: My sister tells me that the cloudiness in my vision could be from scar tissue that has grown over my lenses that was put in when I had cataract surgery almost 4 years ago.

patcelaw: It is with regret that I have to say, I am almost to the point where is is becoming impossible for me to read and review works because of my worsening eyesight.

patcelaw: Mother's day was good until late in the afternoon and then I had an emotional meltdown. The last two weeks has bee quite emotional for me with the sale of my home and car and then making the move.

patcelaw: My move is finished, now just to do the unpacking and the final things to make it truly home. The home I am sharing with my daughter Penny and her husband Larry is beautiful. My two rooms being small have almost wall to wall furniture. It is nice to be here and it gives me a feeling of safety. I will get back to writing in the next few days.

Thanks for your concern and prayers, I had upper chest, neck and jaw pain so had to be put in the hospital, The did and angiogram and found the stents in my hear working well and no more plaque build up in the arteries than was there two years ago. It was determined that the pain was heart related, but was found quickly enough that it did not cause heart damage. The pain could have been caused from stress related to the severe back pain I have endured for the past 2 1/2 years. I was given a light dose of morphine and it relieved the back pain enough that I can get some of my strength back.
After the eighteen days I may again have back pain, and not be able to get more morphine, until I have moved to Phoenix in May, then have to find a doctor there who will prescribe me morphine.

Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with those expensive, double-pane, energy-efficient kind.

Today, I got a call from Home Depot who installed them. The caller complained that the work had been completed a year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.

Helloooo!!!???.... Just because I'm a Senior Citizen doesn't mean that I am automatically mentally challenged.

So, I told him just what his fast-talking sales guy told me last year!
These windows would pay for themselves in a year.

Hellooooo!!!???... I told him that It's been a year, so now they are paid for.
There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally hung up.

He never called back?!. I bet he felt like an idiot.

This is lovely. This made me laugh because only women understand this ! 😊 If my body was a car, I would be trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps, dents, scratches & my headlights are out of focus. My gearbox is seizing up & it takes me hours to reach maximum speed. I overheat for no reason and every time I sneeze, cough or laugh either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

patcelaw: A city slicker went to a cattle ranch and as he stepped out of his car, he sniffed the air and said to the rancher, "this smells awful!"
To which the rancher sniffed the air and said, "sure smells like money to me my city friend."

patcelaw: My vision is terrible right now. I do not know how to type so I use the hunt and peck method and on a black keyboard I can almost not see the keys.
This is why I am very slow in reviewing your posts. So forgive me if I do not get to your posts in a timely manner. I have an appointment tomorrow with the Commission for the Blind.
The vision problem creates a great deal of stress for me.

patcelaw: If it weren't for trend setters we would all still be listening to 15th century music and reading poetry from the 18th century. Had I not had some creativity as a mother I could not have afforded to dress my girls as well as they were dressed. I made most of their clothes and loved the fact that they were always proud of their mama, and pleased to say, "Mama made this for me."
We do need to keep the classics, but we also need to encourage people to learn new skills.
All the time I have people say, "My, I wish I were as talented as you." I am not all that talented, but do love trying to do new and different things.
As the years have taken their toll on my body there are things I am finding I am not able to do comfortably anymore, but I just find something new to do that doesn't hurt my body or my eyes. I don't want to live to 100 and find I can do nothing but wet my pants and twiddle my thumbs. That would be boring.
Enough of my soapbox for now. :-)

patcelaw: Apple Dumplings

single batch

2 granny smith apples - peeled and quartered
I package Pillsbury crescent rolls-8 rolls
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ stick melted butter
1 can of mountain dew soda

Instructions:
wrap apple quarters in crescent rolls
place in baking dish. Sprinkle with
sugar and cinnamon mixed. Pour melted
butter over the rolls. Then pour ½ can of
the mountain dew over all ingredients.
Bake at 350 degrees for
appox. 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve as is or if you wish with whipped cream
or ice cream.
Double recipe for larger group.
I am asked quite often to make these for church
fellowship meals.

patcelaw: Stressful day in the dental chair, but the doctor and his assistant were very kind. have a temporary bridge and will get the permanent one in 19 days.

I Will Not Fear Tomorrow

patcelaw: So a funny thing happened while I was at Wal-mart buying a bag of dog food for my dogs. While in the check-out line, a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog food, RIGHT??? So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Dog food Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with food Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Now that you've read this I have to confess, I copied it. Now copy and share. God's plan for aging

Most seniors never get enough exercise. In His wisdom God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys and other things thus doing more walking. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was another need. In His wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things requiring them to bend, reach & stretch.

And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God considered the function of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise. God looked down and saw that it was good.

So if you find as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it is God's will. It is all in your best interest even though you mutter under your breath.

patcelaw: I am taking a break for a few days as I am not feeling very well. So I will not be posting or reviewing for a while.
Though at times, I come across as one who never has a problem and can face the giants and never bat an eye. Well this is one of those days for me where I am finding the giants are whipping my back side and I need help and prayers.

patcelaw: As women age we get those dreaded growths on our faces. You know, what the world calls chin hairs, but I prefer to call them errant eyebrows. It is just not fair that we get these things when our eyesight is beginning to fail. I have to get the beauty shop to pluck them for me since I cannot see them. Now I want you to know I am in a very spiritual mood today as I am sure you can tell by this. LOL :-)

patcelaw: I was blessed this morning to have a surprise visitor arrive at my front door. My son whom I gave up for adoption when he was a baby and was able to meet when he was 35 arrived for a one day visit.

patcelaw: Got a good report on my left eye today. The vision has improved from 20/80 eight weeks ago to 20/50 today. I also don't have to go back for another 8 weeks.

patcelaw: I am knitting an afghan as a Christmas gift. Today I knitted 20 rows. I need to knit 15 rows for the next 10 days and then take about 5 hours doing the finish work and should have it done to give on Christmas eve..

patcelaw: I just finished writing a free verse poem for the Christmas season.

patcelaw: One thing that is challenging about FanStory is trying out new poetry formats. I have tried a number of new ones an enjoy trying them.
Just did a diamante and will put it up in a couple of days.

patcelaw: As I think you are aware, I am bi-polar and had to have therapy several times when I need to be able to overcome breaks from reality. Two of those times, I lost some days the first time I lost 2 days and the second time I lost 4 days. I tell you this because I have sat in churches where pastors do not understand mental illness and think that a Christian should never have to avail themselves of mental health care and psychotherapist. I have had to fight the battle not only with pastors, but also with everyday people sitting in the congregation who would tell me if I was trusting God I would not have mental illness and could just move on without help. I usually say," Have you ever had a broken leg?" They might say, "yes." I then say, "did you had a cast put on it?" They say, "of course." I then say, "if you had been trusting God you could have walked on that leg without medical help." That pretty much ends the argument.
I had a wonderful pastor in CA who stood with me during my first 2 breaks.
That man and his wife were my constant friends through those difficult times.
Now I am probably more sane than half those in the congregations where I attend church.

Scripture is filled with examples of men and women whom God used late in life, often with great impact - men and women who refused to use old age as an excuse to ignore what God wanted them to do.

patcelaw: I want to explain that if I call you by the wrong name, my eyesight at this point is only 20/200 in the left eye and 20/80 in the right eye. I have to get shots in the left eye every month to hopefully help restore my vision.

patcelaw: Even though I am writing again, it is still a struggle as my vision is off badly and I have to make my font very large to be able to write.

patcelaw: It totally amazes me when I post a poem or story and think it is not so very well done, I get some great comments.

patcelaw: Just hang with me friends as my eyesight and the pain is still limiting me somewhat.

patcelaw: On August 8th I had to go to the hospital because of severe back pain and can still be on the computer a few minutes each day. This is the 74th day I have had pain with only one day pain free. I have been in the hospital and rehab a total of 23 days since July 1. Please pray for me to get well.

patcelaw: I had computer problems for over a week. Computer now fixed and health is slowly getting better.

patcelaw: Due to the pain I continue to experience I must take a break to get the back well.There is a bit of confusion about my back problems two doctors say I don't have a fracture yet another two say there is a fracture.

patcelaw: Have been home just over a week from the hospital, on pain meds and walking with a walker/ I hurt awfully badly. Just want the pain to go away.

patcelaw: This is Patricia's daughter. She will not be posting on fanstory for a least three weeks due to a medical problem. Not life threatening, however, she could use your prayers. Thanks.

patcelaw: I created a contest called Flying Saucers check it out. It is a format I created and when properly done will create Flying Saucer shapes.

patcelaw: We had a wonderful heavy shower of rain. Yippie I don't have to pay water company for water my lawn, got the water for free.

patcelaw: Today 5-12-15 another of my poem was read on the international prayer program. The really neat part is God gets the praise, because my name is never mentioned. Each time one of the poems is read I am humbled beyond measure.

patcelaw: yesterday one of the many poems I have written was shared on an international radio prayer program.

The pastor that does the program calls me the poet laureate for the program.
I am very humbled by this term.
