This is a terrific verse that covers this imagining of dying and leaving all the sights and sounds that come together to make up our lives. Such a departure is what we all might want, barring taking our own lives.

Wow this is dark. But I love it. It's got great imagery and presentation to add to the darkness. The death carriage sounds so creepy , definitely don't want to see me of those hanging around outside my door! Lol
Well done very enjoyable

I think we all ponder death and what it would be like in the process, I don't know anyone who has died and came back to brush the tears away, and say, there! There! Things are fine, the bible brings some comfort though! And this is beautifully written, most loving couples believe in eternal rest in each other's arms, beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy

This is beautiful, Gypsy, and I love the way that your verse has been inspired by Ms Dickinson! The carriage is such a vivid image with the journey capturing all the memories shared together. Atmospheric, poignant and captivating. Thank you. Debbie

Gypsy,
I like the Emily Dickinson poem that you based your heart-wrenching on.
Your work is poignant. I can relate to this. My fiancé died in 1995 and I have had no one as understanding since. I'm alone now, but have my dog as comfort.
"Morning dew cried silently for us..." and "as we said goodbye to life."
If this is about immortality, it's great symbolism too.
Best wishes, Gypsy.

One day we ourselves will be in that carriage of death. And we will be alone. I lost my husband almost 29 years ago and it almost seems like yesterday. I can still see his pleasant smile and his bright blue eyes. Patricia.

This is one of the eeriest, romantic things I've ever heard. Darkness doesn't always have to be dark. I see that now. Beautiful work, Gypsy.
God bless,
Steve

This was beautiful. Truly moving. You told a story that was more than a goodbye. It told of a lifetime of two who loved each other and were tied together throughout life and now in the final moments of life. Very Gothic and romantic. Gretchen
