These are sad words and we rely on our senses to remind us of someone who is no longer there and I remember keeping some personal items belonging to my husband, because of the smell, but the smells eventually fade when someone is no longer with us, a poignant write filled with memories here, love Dolly x

Wonderfully written, but, oh so heartbreaking. The fact that she kept the shirt just breaks my heart. A wonderfully emotive poem, Gypsy, and your use of delicate phrasing gives it depth and resonance. Well done.

This was well presented, rich in Theme and Imagery.
Calvin works for me.
And as for Aremis?
Chanel knows with her Number 5.
While Buebbery?

First, thanks for introducing me to this CHOKA poetry form. I shall have to try it. Secondly, thanks for offering a great poem as an example. Your words are very evocative, the sense of loss and longing as one struggles to accept. Very moving.

A lot of relationships like this seem to happen, and I certainly have been guilty of one or two myself. But I turned out ok...I think. Beautifully written Gypsy, blessings Roy

The imagination in this poem is written very romantic. This morning I was listening to someone speak about keeping clothes so they can fantasize. Perhaps this poem brings that to surface.

Gutwrenching heartbreak. First words that come to mind with this. I see a woman who clings to whatever she can of a lost live. The scent of Obsession leading to thoughts of broken passion from the past. Great job. Gretchen

I prefer to think of this lost love was lost to death and not to a failed relationship. The romance part of me likes that better. Even in death we cling to shirts and thoughts of the loved one. Thank you for sharing.

I know what you mean. When my mother died, I was ten, I clang to my mother's clothes and pillow because they still smelled like her.
Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem.

This choka, Safe Haven Embrace, has the proper formatting and seems to reflect a failed relationship haunted by the comfortable clothing which remains as a safety blanket.
