Love and death are closely related, because we can really feel that the loss of the loved one will mean we have nothing to live for. We are so caught up with the other person we cannot imagine any other life.

Another fine poem, Gypsy....and no wonder I'm divorced....I was hearing the saying wrong, I thought it was a thousand little disappointments , and in that, I succeeded!

I'm glad you explained the "little death" I was thinking it meant just sleeping. Lol. I am sure that the "thousand and one" is symbolic as one thousand cranes is given to wish health. So 1,001 must be even greater!

A knew this folk tale from when I was little. I wrote about it in my author notes. It's about a king about to kill his slave but she offers to tell him a great story that night. She is such a great story teller that the king asks for one more story the next night. This went on by 1,001 nights and he had fallen in love with her and married her. I loved that story. A few of the stories were famous...particularly "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp" and "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves"
Thank you very much, big sister.
I'm glad you liked it. Love you.

I Like your SIJO Poem- picture presentation- interesting story- good notes explaining the story and the poem's vernacular- 'death' - good decision made by Zadie - one thousand one small 'deaths' is better than a terminal one' - probably not always- he had money - makes sense to me!l lol
Good job

When I talk about my past 68 years.
And, how I've cheated death
14 times and been to Hell twice.
I shouldn't even be able to communicate.
But, I can and I will because...
I think of what you just wrote and how beautiful it was.
And how just a beautiful little fairy tale can keep somebody alive.
For this soon in my own personal style is a fairy tale!

Thank you, Boo. I am happy you are still alive. I tried suicide four times but I'm still here. We are resilient. I really appreciate the exceptional review and six stars.

Hi Gypsy, First, I want to thank you for your most informative and interesting author's note. They definitely enhance and complement your poem. I especially liked:
each eve
veiled in silver moon
I watch you sleep
(Good alliteration and imagery)
Well done. Beautiful photo choices. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. Margaret ~ LateBloomer
