I like poppies. I used to have California Poppies in my garden and then they died. They are not easy to grow here n the Midwest. Love the presentation.

Again another fabulous poem. I can imagine you picking the poppies as a child. We always had to wear a felt poppy on our coats (even though we didn't understand why then). Great job.

Excellent poem - all ties together so well with the picture; with your personal life experience, and the metaphor - silk like movement -of the poppies as bedgowns before going to sleep at night- nicely done. Red poppies have many meanings.

Funny Gypsy about 'bedgowns' - I verified it is one word like nightgown. Makes sense, but a word I likely never used.
Do like how your flowers stretch themselves at night. You chose an excellent color pattern to pair with your verse.

Ah, you don't mean the California poppies but those gorgeous, red poppies. I like the "scarlet bedgowns." I always think of them closing up during the less sunny times of day.

Red poppies are one of my favorite flowers. I picked them when I was little and pretended they were ballet dancers by pulling down the petals. The young poppies had different colors before they were red in full bloom. They remind me of my country of origen.
