To me these are not bad people. "The old saying that birds may fly at your heard but you don't have to let them nest there", applies.
I think each time we fall in love, we give a slice of our heart. Those bonds aren't completely broken, unless there was a very painful breakup.
Acknowledgement of an old love and walking away isn't wrong. Using the information to hurt one's mate is.
I have two relatives who ended up marrying their first loves, after their mates died.

This is a beautiful sonnet about passion lost, found, and lost again. I am theoretically moralistic about relationships and commitments, but acknowledge that sometimes in our humanness we take a side trip (not necessarily right or wrong, but simply "is"). You expressed this diversion with great tenderness and passion. I particularly liked: in daydream's clouds, adrift in my soul's sky (beautiful). Also: "Now each day I sing our secret song". this reads kind of like a ballad--I can see you singing it in some court a long time ago. Caroline

Holding on to that one that we loved once and got away. Their is a song that an old guy would sing to me. Each time I hear it I too think of him. We tend to have a little secret here and there. I think it's ok.

Aren't all affairs scandalous? :) I think sometimes it is the excitement of the act rather than love for the person. Mikey, this is very well done. Good luck.
Have a most excellent day.
Christelle.
