A Scandalous Affair

by michaelcahill

                                                                         housewife5
though thirty years had come and gone by then,
within my mind 'twas not a day passed by,
without me tasting her sweet lips again,
in daydream's clouds, adrift in Heaven's sky.

Then there before me strode she grand as gold.
It could be what could never be would be.
I approached her quick insanely bold,
her kiss revealed--she did remember me.

But though we did indulge our hearts' desire,
the practicality of our lives called.
We both had families to quell our fire,
with honor, our wild fantasy was stalled.

Now, still each day I sing our secret song.
It does suffice; let others judge it wrong.
