But I Hate Goodbyes...

by sunnilicious

I wish to say a farewell to the pandemic,
But that is taking its own time to dwindle down;
May this toxic evilness rid itself
And never ever return anywhere again.

An end to social distancing could bring new things
I don't have any lost loves that will return,
But may new things enter this mundane life of mine;
May surprises be in store for everybody.

Farewell to this annual poetry challenge,
I will not miss the writing prompts that I followed,
But I always seem to miss my online friends.
Who wants to talk on the telephone anymore?

I wish leading a life of normalcy could return;
Having a routine seems to be the essential.
I suppose that varies depending on lifestyles,
And you'll find out what happens to me next year.

Have a great year ahead!

Notes: Thank you for reading and reviewing my creative poetic writings. I feel neurotic right now. I don't want to say goodbye. Hearts & hugs from me to you :)

Day 30, Writing prompt - This is the 30th poem, which is usually a farewell for the annual... However, this year, NaPoWriMo asks on an optional basis for us to write a poem about something that returns.
