A chapter in the book Poetic Treasures and Dreams

Children on a Swing

by dovemarie

Children on a swing
With laughter's cheerful ring
Children from the south; children from the north
Swinging happily back and forth

These children are brave
Looking eagerly for their mothers' wave
They love to talk,
But they cannot walk

Fast, upward and downward motion of delight
Upon them their mothers' eyes alight
This is some freedom the children will know
When in their wheelchairs, their mothers' tears flow
