A Promise of Forever

Staunchly, Carrie brushed a tear away. She'd promised to be strong.
Seven weeks, she'd held his hand, praying, battling doubt, desperately clutching to her waning faith.
Surgery had been their only hope. Were the doctors wrong?
Her lips quivered. "Please, Michael. Fight!"
His eyelids flickered. Had he heard her plea?

It's been several years since I've been able to return to my love of writing and enjoying FanStory. My first posting, 50 words, simplifying emotions and places I have been. Smiles from Begin Again as life moves forward.
