The Sleeping Tiger

 the past drifts along a putrid creek
as sorrow waves goodbye from the muddy riverbanks the heart barely remains afloat carried away by raging rapids aiming for the immense sea of a wasted life raw childhood memories burn like salt on open wounds cut by the broken glass of bottles across a filthy floor with dirty needles here and there waiting for the next time my name is nobody and I'm an addict

Sleeping Tiger is a saying AA or NA members say, it means that even after an alcoholic or addict stops using he/she/they always have the dormant illness inside.
