Bill

Perfect 2 4 2 & True but is it something to held against someone after so many decades? I'm not an overt religious guy but this is something to consider, "let him who is without sin cast the first stone".

When he got the chance to fess up, he lied to congress under oath. That was last week, not thirty years ago. People born on third base don't think rules apply to them. Don't worry, the Congress will seat him.

A sobering message in your 2-4-2 entry, and best of luck. The question is, should it? Has that person left a trail of drunken driving arrests, or maybe injured someone while drinking? Many of us couldn't stand up to scrutiny if based in actions as teenagers. If someone who may have had a history of drinking excessively while young has not demonstrated problems with alcohol in adult life, those episodes should not come back to haunt. judi

Everything that Judge K did in his hearing was proof that he shouldn?t be in that SC seat. Sure we have all stepped on ourselves at some point growing up, but we?re not being appointed to a lifetime post passing moral judgments on the country. If you?re a bad drunk, don?t lie about it under oath in front of Congress. If you have to be unbiased, don?t blame ?the Clintons?, the Democratic Party, and the media because you didn?t get a cake walk. If Bret had done anything like what he?s accused of to you or someone I knew, not getting on the SC would be the least of his worries.

I see we disagree. I think that Kavanaugh had every right to be angry when he spoke after the allegations by Blasey-Ford. He was not speaking from the bench, but as a man trying to defend his reputation. judi

I guess I?m jaded after twenty plus years in the Marines and fifteen years in the classroom. I have heard ?die with the lie? liars at court martials, expulsions, and from average joes. They will never admit transgressions and will swear to God, with eyewitness and photo evidence against them, that they are innocent. People with something to lose will lie like a rug to the grave.

It sure does haunt everyone. However there is a double standard. Bad behavior is totally ignored when the opposing party to the one we favor is trying to get something done. Apparently they all drink a lot and/or have checkered pasts. I don't think we want to have a country where a person is accused and convicted for things we have done years ago on allegations that have not been proven. What's fair is fair. Marilyn

It?s tough losing the ultimate gig for being a problem drinker in high school

That's a good way to put it and what an example you gave us. I like that you said it completely apolitically. It's something that I hope our young people are taking note and changing some behaviors.

Haaaaaaaa, so true, and especially if you can't remember you were a blackout drunk, because then you don't know why you're being haunted.

Great job, Bill and a perfect entry into the contest. I wish you much luck with the Contest Committee.

Oh my God yes. I have done some things while drunk that if they were to ever become disclosed, I would be forced to go into hiding for some time. I would be unable to look anyone who has ever shown me respect in the face. With that having been said, I have never been guilty of sexual assault. I have tried to get frisky, but knew that no means no and never took it there..

This is a very well written 2-4-2 poem you have penned for the contest. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery with the picture. Blessings, Teri
