A very well-written poem about hugs and the important role it plays in our daily lives. A hug from a friend orca child not only feels great but make the stresss of the day fall away.

Hi Ronni,
I love this one my friend, for there can be nothing stronger then a hug at times. Rather it's polite, for love or to ease ones pain it's simple but yet so powerful. Thanks for sharing my dear friend. A big hug to you. God bless

Your poem greatly encourages hugging. Your images give a warm-feeling picture to the reader. Yes, "hugs are silent joys". Your poem reminds me of a hug I get from a lady at a meeting I go to and it truly nurtures me. Thank you. Well done.

And I am sending you a big one, dear Ronni. What a jovial thing to write. I read first thing this morning, and raised a smile, despite a darkened day.
Big hugs, Ronni.
Have a great day.

Hi Ronni
Just to let you know that my new work will be released in about an hour's time. I am telling you this as you are one of my fans and it will not appear in your mailbox again as it was released early by the system, unfinished, and was deleted, and will not show released again in your mailbox, but you can now read it, if you are interested to do so, and it suits your ear... with curtesy, not for the sake of stars, just the option of knowing it is available, than not knowing. It will be also on the front page.
My best wishes. :) Have a beautiful Sunday

I've never been a hugger and prefer to avoid them as they make me feel uncomfortable. However, some occasions make hugs good etiquette like at funerals. So, I try to behave and participate in required hugs. I'm such a weirdo, I know.

Hi Joy,
Indeed, not everyone is inclined toward hugging just anyone and everyone. Can understand that fully.
Depends on the person, as to whether they are someone we feel comfortable enough to hug. Hugging
total strangers is not wise; what this poem refers to, rather people we know, like, or meet sometime, some place
by chance or known from years back. Hugs at funerals is polite etiquette, and momentarily comforting for both.
You are not a weirdo in any sense, dear Joy. You are just YOU....and that is all you can or need to be...with
or without hugs...LO...
Blessings and best wishes always! Ronni

Hello Ronni,
How I appreciate the sentiments expressed in your verse. As a mother, hugs were always given to my children; they still are. But what strikes me about your verse is the line: "Hugs are silent joys, rescues never asked." As a teacher for nearly four decades, hugs were freely given...even when the times dictated that they be not. Never was much for political correctness, and I can tell you that the hugs are still given when I see former students, and they are definitely reciprocated...The human touch is so vital to who we are...
Thank you for sharing!

Hi there,
Can well understand you relating so positively on this hugs poem. Love the personal reflections you shared
on hugging in your world and life. And you are so right...the personal touch is so vital! As a teacher myself,
I hugged former students and present ones too, and they do respond and appreciate it indeed. Even
though my students are college age kids and older ( teach an elective course in The Humanities) at local
college; they still appreciate hugs too. My pleasure to share.... Have a gorgeous week...with many hugs!!
Blessings, best wishes, Ronni

Hi, I agree, a hug isn't a hug at all if not given heartly. It needs to express what one cannot at times or just a reminder of shared words, gratitude, affection and more. A hug as a smile is what can make one day. similar to an apple a day keeps the doctor away... Special are they. Well done.
