Hi, Treicschel,
I agree "Bug Thoughts" is a first rate poem for the description of the insect world in its many unique features. The flow, rhyme, and figurative language are excellent.
"hostile world terrain" is a fresh app metaphor.

If ants were larger, they could easily rule the world. They each have their role to play from the private to the General.Yes, I think one day, the bugs will take over and probably do a much better job of looking after the planet than ever man did. Sorry I'm late, Tom, I am trying to catch up. Excellent poem, it gets us thinking! xsx Sandra

You never disappoint, Tom, either with your photography or with the poems you write to accompany them. There is a nature lover's eye for detail in this and a care for the small things of life, which could so easily be seen as a metaphor for the battlers and footsloggers of the human world.
It is easy to forget by how much the insects population exceeds ours and to underestimate its resilience. We may take the bees with us when we go but the ants and cockroaches will outlast us for sure.
I spent my sixes early this week, which is a shame, for this surely deserves one.

What a fun ode to the bug population! I'm sure if they had their 'druthers', they'd adopt this poem as an anthem of sorts! *smile* This was such fun, Tom! Thanks for sharing!

Hi
what an excellent written poem, reflecting the animal kingdom, ants i find intriguing little critters, the only bug i truely hate are cocroaches, if there's an alien on this planet, they're it. wht animal, dosen't bleed can servive a nuclear blast nad if squashed after several hours, pop its head up, then body, then run away?
Freaky, they actually scar me more then spiders, you know why i like spideers, they eat cockroaches and any other bugs i don't like and when i kill iy, remain dead. LOL
I didn't mind your mixed meter in your poem, i don't feel it effected it, in any way, in regards to the flow of it.
Great job
Regards
Tia

So, what you're really saying here in your delightfully well-written and rhymed poem, if I'm interpreting this correctly, is that all of these things really BUG you? Is that about the gist of this?
Bwa-ha-ha-ha-a-a-aaaaaa...I crack myself up sometimes, Tom.
Excellent...

Masterful! An excellent presentation about a vital part of our world. While we may not always appreciate these creatures of creation, they are a vital part of our and in many ways they foretell what may be to come for us a species-our demise. Done with both reflection and question of what may be.
Loved it!

Hi TRIESCHEL,
I love this poem. Who would have thought that a poem about bugs could be so interesting. I like many turn my nose up at those ugly little pests but our planet would be a lot different without them. This was well rhymed and flowed gracefully.
I loved it.
