Hmm! Looks liker they're hedging their bets to me. This has got me confused is this a 5-7-5 or a three line poem? Reminds of that philosohical claptrap. All 5-7-5s are three line poems some three line poems are 5-7-5s. Have I got that right. This would pass muster as a senryu I think.

Thank you Pantygynt. Yup, you've got all three right. Three line poem indeed. In fact, of the about 20 contests listed, I'd say 15 of then don't exceed 4 lines. Cat had it right, how can a Haiku be ranked the same as a Crown of Heroic Sonnets.

These 3 line poems are demanding in their format sine they expect a visual picture and an emotional component in 17 syllables. You have succeeded in all of the requirements and leave the reader with a nice reading experience. Well Done.

My neighbor is of Native American heritage and make beautiful head dresses for their dances. He also does beautiful beaded items as well. Blessing for a great weekend. BTW how is your wife doing with the new knee? Patricia

Thank you Patricia. Her knee is all healed and she is very pleased that we can go for walks again without pain, it has even improved much of her back pain. I am hoping that are she gets out more and strengthens those muscles, her back pain will go away completely. Then all my prayers will have been answered. Praise the Lord.
