Once again I admire your talent. The structure and metered part of my brain has cobwebs. I need to use it more. But the free flowing part of my brain is like a wild horse...lol I enjoyed this beautiful poem. It is just as beautiful as the scenery you've created with the words in it.

Comment from Joan E.
The "parking lot"--imagine what it looks like outside the banquet hall! I enjoyed your rhymed and rhythmic quatrains and your appeal to our sense of smell as well as sight. Here's to helping the ozone too! Have a pleasant Sunday- Joan

Comment from Pantygynt
This seems like a breath of spring in these dark days of winter. Since you are not writing about it, I imagine you must be far enough west to be escaping the blizzards that, if our news media is to be believed, have stopped the eastern seaboard of the USA dead in its tracks.
Beauty comes in many forms and this scene represents natural beauty guided by the mortal hand of the gardener while your poem is all man made beauty on its own.

Thank you Pantygynt. I didn't realize that the poem wasn't in preview mode. You must have grabbed it before I could add the image. Look again. It's there now.
Yes, we missed the storm. Dang, the East Coast got all our good snow. A couple of feet wouldn't even slow us down. We have gotten some cold. It even froze over a large waterfall, which I photographed yesterday when it warmed up to zero F. I post something on it soon.

I love the irony of the title! We humans have a strange urge to make things pretty in our surroundings while we actually slowly degrade everything around us.
Your poem brings together the pleasant and the useful :). Fascinating perspective!
The poem starts out light and pleasant then, the third stanza brings in the invaluable message: care for the planet!
You framed the poem well with the repeated line:
"don't forget the trees"
This is quite a message of caring for our environment and to slow down - taking good care of ourselves, as well. Thank you for sharing this delightful poem!

Hi Treischel
Love the poem, great rhythm and rhyme that flows nicely when you read.
Great picture. I never thought about landscape gardening as decorating before but I guess that's just what it is.
Great

What a wonderful tribute to Mother Nature. I enjoy the out-of-door and have most lived on acreage outside of town. So I am lucky to have nature all around me. You took a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing it and your poem. I have enjoyed both. Very well written.

Comment from Marykelly
The message of this poem seems to be the importance of decorating with flowers and trees to enhance the beauty of the place and to help with the cycle of plants contributing to the environment. The rhythm and rhyme work well in this poem and the words flow easily. It's a simple but important message that is easy to read and easy to follow.

This is a very good poem you have here. It is very clever and it fits well with the picture. I'm wondering if you would like to see my poem called, Life Through a Year, and see how it is and if it needs any fix ups
