Yes, I have seen a lot of testimonies of confirmed wasted cocaine addicts who were cured of addiction instantly without withdrawals when Jesus revealed himself to them and healed them of their cravings for cocaine and heroin. You are right only God, our Savior can save a soul snatched by devil drugs. Thanks fro sharing this excellent poem.

Thank you for sharing. You've got quite a vocabulary. I had to look up eider to see what it was. I noted the sequence of your "people, places or things". Did you duplicate that from the Schoolhouse Rock ditty? Regardless, your poem has a nice rythym to it.

An amazing free style poem relating fragments of thoughts as they pass through a drug filled mind full of warning and danger of this dangerous addiction. Well presented with colorful descriptive words and words of wisdom built inside!

This is an interesting post that has a moral to tell the reader. This is a terrible blight on society, but then so is alcohol and cigarettes and they are legal. They do even more damage. Well done.

I've never taken serious drugs, though I did approach my local 'trafficker' for some cocaine after I read the multi-coloured stanza first. However, he refused to accept the 'lucky leprechaun certificate' and five 'member pumps' I have saved up, in payment, and accused me of being 'on' something else. ;-)

Maybe that's a good thing as I don't wish to experience the red-highlighted downers you list here as very dramatic warnings, which I read AFTERWARDS. ;-)

Very knowledgeable (or researched) details of this drug, brilliantly presented.

Good luck and best wishes, Ray

Hi ...

This is a powerful piece!. I never got into the drug thing ... even when I was much younger. I've always believed that if there's something wrong in your life that makes it so difficult ... change your life ... don't mask the problem!

Coke, heroin and the like are just flimsy crutches. As you said, it eventually turns on you and will destroy you if you let it.

Lots of good advice in this one at the end. You did a real nice job on this. Good luck in the contest!

Alan

That multicolored text is jangling to the eye. I guess it's supposed to be, like the raw nose that comes with snorting. Is life so dear or peace so sweet one should avoid the embrace of the white goddess? Excellent adherence to the prompt. Good luck.

The reasons for my heavy drinking would have been the same as the ones shared here, it numbs the pain of existing in an unfulfilling world, filling a world of pain Artificially, the pain flees for a little while, but returns in the light of effects wearing off, God cured me of booze and gave me a reason to live, well done, beautifully written, let's hope somebody listens, well done, blessings, Roy
