Wow again! I just love all your informative, and colourful notes, both on nature and on poetry! And, I love your gifts of observation and ability to stand on so many shoeless feet! Of course, most eagles had been ruthlessly exterminated by the time I arrived on Australian Soil, many carcasses paraded on outback fences, so they can be a treasured sight to a more mature, and less threatened, human eye. Or our ancient souls who have been so sorely threatened!

Thanks Treischel, you always inspire God's nourishment and delight for my day! Well done, Maureen*&*

The majesty of the eagle in majestic verse. The eagle is a beautiful bird in flight. In Scotland the landowners frown upon the golden eagle as they take lambs from the hills. The rhyme and form are delicious and the picture is wonderful.
Bless you
John

Thank you John. It is amazing, the size of the prey they can carry off.

This well written poem paints a great picture about both the eagle and the prairie dogs in relation to their natural existence. It always great to observe the creatures of nature and their learned ways of survival.

Well deserved accolades. Wish I had not already used my 6 star allotments.

Well done.

An amazing and beautiful bird and a very skilled hunter.
Nature is bold and beautiful, yet also violent and ugly.
Thankfully most species have inherent alarm systems to
prevent species destruction.
Cleverly crafted, well presented and a great nature poem.

They are quite the killers.. .you'll have to see the photos I took in Alaska of the bald eagles... they'd swoop down over the Puget Sound... and I'd shoot photo after photo, I couldn't even see, I was shooting straight into the sun... and when I'd get back to the cabin with the computer and camera... A FISH IN THE TALONS! What? LOL
Amazing... I even shot a fight between two bald eagles and a golden eagle over a fish. It was AWESOME! I got some amazing shots.
That's the place to go! ;)
Love seeing your photography as much as the poetry! LOL
;)
Oh yeah, this is a poetry site, isn't it? LOL
(well, it's just nice to have something in common with another artist) LOL
;)
Well done, yet again, Tom

Dark shadow in the bluest skies,
with wicked wings and deadly eyes. ... fantastic opening lines

Tom,

How do you keep producing GOOD poetry at such a pace? Your muse never slumbers, does she (or he!)?

The author notes are a great companion - as always.

Beautifully done, friend.

A well written poem about the Bald Eagle Tom.
We see them quite often where I live in Nevada as well. They are magnificent birds and a joy to watch. This is a well written poem in Tetrameter and aaabb rhyme.(My favorite.)
Nice picture. Good job. Nancy

You're so right about the eagle. Your poem effectively with good rhyme describes the eagle well. They are formidable in their ability to forage for food from the air. Next to the tiger, the eagle is my favourite animal.
Well done, Tom.

I've noticed that you have at least two talents. The poetry and the photography -- because I can't speak to how well you did your job at Lockheed Martin, obviously. Do you have others? Knitting, needlepoint? Quilting? Mechanics?

You seem to be quite the multi-tasker! *smile*

Enjoyed this one!

I admire the eagle and its ability to hunt. At least it takes what it needs and no more. Those birds have an amazing eyesight. They can see, as a dog smell, and dolphins can feel vibrations in the water. Nature is beautiful. Read your author notes and the bit about the shadow as a warning was very interesting. Wonderfully written. Les
