A brief poem but it says a lot. The picture is amazing and the font color is great. I would lighten the colour a bit as it is difficult to read as it is too bright. I liked 'the sting on the wings' a thought-provoking contrast. Well done, Tom.

Love it, Treischel. And your photography is superb! Do you offer it to FanReview?Having married a naturalist, and grown with our boys curiosity, love and interests, I love your information too. Congratulations all around! Moreover, I trust it will pass the Review panel, whereas, I can usually say little of a short poem, but that it resonates and inspires me to pick up my pen. So, an extra thanks to you, and my blessings, Maureen*&*

As far as I can tell the only rule about 5-7-5 poetry is that syllable count. Good luck with the contest. You have left little for the reviewer to comment on. The only thing I can think of is to admire the way you have managed to get the lines almost exactly the same length giving a rectangular appearance.

Thank you Oantygynt. That was totally unintentional.

It's good to throw rules overboard sometimes, and just have fun. All in good spirit and nobody gets hurt. Colorful presentation. Good luck in the contest

Thank you Sandra. Good advice.

Good for you. I think the charm of the 5-7-5
is that syllable count is the only rule.
Everything else is allowed.
And anyone who interferes, deserves the sting.
Best of luck at the polls.
Peace, Lee

Don't apologize for using great poetic devices - it's a 5-7-5, not a haiku:) I think it is a great one in perfect form. good luck to you. It seems you like photography of nature like I do though I rarely use my pictures (don't know why).

Thank you Teresa. I find that when I go to publish, it is so much better not to have to get permission from anyone else.
