I often think that simple thoughts can be the best for they are uncluttered by so many other things.
This expression of simple thought is beautiful and reflects the simple, yet beautiful image choice.
A perfect ABAB quatrain.

fat, fluffy snowflakes fluttering down becoming butterflies - though that dream seems unattainable right now, in a few months the reign of white will be over. I think we are all dreaming your dream.

Ah, and I dream along with you, friend.
I've just returned from four weeks in sunny Sri Lanka, visiting my parents.
As for the snow and ice ... I have no words ... ugh!

A great poem, Tom. I wish I could see butterflies midst the thick snow and ice here, I think that would be wishful thinking, but the thought is nice. I liked the idea of the fat flakes futtering in the freeze. Well done, Tom.

How fortunate you were to capture the glorious Monarch! I understand your yearning for spring and admired the contrast in the poem's scene with its rhymed quatrain. Here's to more butterflies and soon! -Joan

Dear Tom - I have the same dream my friend. I am so past winter and need spring's re-birth. This is a lovely and well penned poem - I enjoyed reading it.
