This poem describes to a tee this glorious flower. The magical part of the piece is enjoyed in these lines:
" For flower colors paint the world
with beauty to admire.
Allowing hope to be unfurled
for peace that we desire. "
Admire that beauty for the warm peace. well done, Tom.

I had a climbing Black-eyed-Susan in my garden in Spain, it was as lovely as you describe it. I must get one for my new one here. Lovely poem, Tom, to go with your lovely photo. xsx sandra

Hi!
I am not a poet and as such, I am not familiar with the requirements of the various sub-genres of poetry.
That said, I enjoyed your poem simply for the warmth in the message. I love these flowers and you reminded me of how beautiful they really are. Thanks for a real nice reminder! Wishing you well ...

What a delightful flower and a poem to match it's delightful personality. We have Black Eyed Susan perennials here in the north, but they are not vines. I've never even seen any of these around here.
Thanks for sharing the lovely poem and the detailed author's notes.
Blessings,
Marsha

A nice light hearted poem to start the day.
God use of abab rhymes
Good use of enjambment
Your 8-6-8-6 meter creates a lovely rhythm
Fantastic presentation

Flawless abab rhyme and metre, Tom - there's never a doubt on those counts, of course, right? :)
You make me long for my summer garden.
Hope your weekend has been lovely so far.
