I loved this poem because it resonates on so many different levels.
The photograph epitomizes the essence of the poem with its close up distorted imagery.
Could it have been a little longer?

Your modified octogram is delightful, with its play on the past and the future. The art choice works well. We certainly need to learn from the past, but not stay there. The present and the future hold so much more for life.
Well done.

Beautiful, and very well thought out, clearly. I like the multi-media approach with the clock. What you are expressing in this poem is something I've often felt, especially about the few influencing the many.

Love certainly brightens up the dullest lives and hearts, Tom. You are so right. To love is to see the light, and I think you certainly have. The photo is unique in every way. Wonderful pairing. :) Sandra xsx

Excellent photo by you yourself that complements your poem very well. Nice title that matches the photo and the poem. It is an Octogram and alterations don't matter as long as it not for a contest.

The reflections are all about perceptions and feelings. As you say - history shows the culture climb, both right and wrong. When love is true I see the light but when it's not, all I see is darkness. Well done, Tom.

A lovely poem with great meaning. I enjoyed it more when you didn't explain its complexity lol. I don't think I could manage writing something that honoured all those rules.
