A great poem as you invest winter with an awesome personality and a beautiful coat:
" This fresh new winter coat,
That sparkles in the light,"
Now that is truly inspirational. Well done, Tom.

Comment from Roxanna Andrews
Living first in calif and now in FL I've seen very little snow. I do wish we had more of a winter here. I is no fun to sweat in Dec. ={ It has been cooler and even a few cold days, but it never last long. The poem is very well done. Love the picture too.

An impressive winter wonderland for sure.
The magic and inherent beauty of the winter scene is perfectly
captured in this lovely suite of descriptive septets.
On the other side of the world in Oz we are in summer which is storm season so Christmas day weather may be a surprise package.
Heat, rain showers, storms or a complex mix of all of these.
But in the true spirit of Christmas we will give thanks to God and enjoy
this magical day with our family.
:-) Shirley

Thank you Ine.
Comment from Joan E.
I hope your wife liked this poem better! Since your photograph shows your house inundated by snow, you both would have to love Minnesota!! Your septets captured the season very effectively and your rhymes, plus alliteration of "s's" added to the intensity. More cheers- Joan

Your photograph is lovely, the snow certainly looks very nice in the picture, but I am glad I am living in the temperate South of England with rarely a snowflake. I lived in Upstate NY for years in a freezing log cabin and blizzards, I have had my fill of snow! Your poem describes the picturesque qualities of the snow as it adorns the landscape. Good use of descriptive language and excellent rhyming. Enjoyable read. Faye

A beautiful picture to go with this very visual and well written poem. I agree with you, winter is one of the most beautiful seasons. So much to see and do and every day brings a completely different scene. Loved the description of this poem and I could see this beautiful picture you painted with your words. This fresh new winter coat that sparkles in the light... loved these two lines. Genya

Ah, an ode to winter. After last year, I'm rather "out-of-love" with winter, but you did a good job romanticizing it. Not much snow in Michigan yet. I'm sure a big blast isn't too far away!

Thanks, i know wgat you mean, but I'd really miss a season without snow. The folks in Buffalo probably feel the same as you do.
