Hi!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem! Since I was a kid ... many years ago ... I have always found scarecrows amusing and interesting. And your poem only adds to my admiration of these wonderful "creatures".

I do not write any significant poetry but I totally enjoyed this. It appears to be a difficult style to write but if, indeed, it is, youseem to have astered the art! Very nice.

Best to you ...

Alan

This was a superb poem and I loved the picture. Scarecrows seem to come in all shapes and sizes and I have seen some very strange ones in my time. Loved the way this poem flows, not really heard of a trinket, but read your notes so I had to just read it again. Horray...learnt something else today. Thank you for sharing the poem and the notes. The trinets are interesting to look at and mimic the crows as well. I enjoyed the four stanzas and your rhymes. Your photograph is so reinforcing! Cheers and happy weekend- Joan

You captured the essence of a scarecrow very well. Do you know, this is the first time I have seen a scarecrow dressed to look like a crow! I have always thought of them as straw men that scare crows! You live and learn. Lovely fun poem, Tom! xsx Sandra

Apart from the humour of your poem, I rather like the way that the form of the Trinet visually apes the form of the scarecrow with the long arms of the central lines!

The trinet format resembles the scarecrow's physical appearance--good creativity in selecting this form;
These men of straw often symbolize Halloween;
Some look very real!
I like the incorporation:
"invoking Edgar Allan Poe"
A fun crow as a scarecrow poem--I really enjoyed this Tom! Thank you for sharing

    Thank you Margaret. It act rally was a Raven for Poe, but crows are close relatives.

Great picture to go along with some ingenious words MR T. I always am amazed the different schemes you use and always hit them right on the head Another one of Mr T's verbal work of art.

I love how you took the image and made commentary on it. You did a great job with the structure. This flowed naturally and was a joy to read. Great job.
