that is a gorgeous picture, treischel, I don't know what kind of flower it is either, I just searched for ten minutes trying to find a picture like it on the internet. I like this meter switch you did with each stanza.

I like the changing rhyme scheme - keeps us on our toes:) A beautiful, fun and refreshing little poem. I don't know either what the flower is but I've seen it before too and it is beautiful.

Your piece at times does amazes me with great delight and more so insight(something to ponder)
I do have these questions for you
Are you a botanist?
Or an environmental philosopher?
Or just a lover of nature's creatures?
....Smiling...
Am sure you do have a lot to say on that, but if it be few, I'd be not surprised.
...Smiling broadly...

Thank you MagKing. I like the tag of environmental philosopher. I call myself a photo-poet.

There is an energy and a sparkling vibracy in this piece. I especially liked these lines:
"To be drawn into its lure,
Is a feeling fresh and pure.
Think I'll linger just a bit."
Well done, Tom.

Comment from Sandra Stoner-Mitchell
I liked the different rhyme schemes in this poem, Tom, it works really well. I also liked the wonderful imagery in your words, it brings the colour to life and the interlinking of the vines, that was a wonderful bit of poetic genius. A pleasure to read, and I am pleased to see you back. You were gone before I went, but it seems we came back almost at the same time. :) Sandra.

Thank you Sandra. Now I'm blushing from all that praise. Book sales not going too well. I thing if sold only 2. They are too expensive.

So many flowers--impossible to identify, but easy to behold;
Thank you for sharing your encounter with these new blossoms;
"petals dipped in pink";
"bloom is beautiful and bright"--nice visuals coupled with descriptive alliteration;
One never knows what they will encounter when out and about.
Excellent!

Lovely photo of this beautiful flower, I also don't know what it is. But in your poem you write how it looks. Nice this varying rhyme.

Comment from Shirley E Kennedy
A bright and eye catching subject and presentation.
The mixed rhyme is effective and the words describe the bloom well.
It looks a little like a dahlia to me-but they don't grow on vines. So?

The mixing of the rhyme works very well-to me the second verse read at a quick pace,which underlines the joy expressed in the last verse,which has a more sedate reverential pace.A very well structured and succinct poem,the first stanza is particularly well constructed.An Inspired and enjoyable work.Thank you.
