Well, that was a pretty good set up, and you did a good job selling the punch line and making it quite unexpected. Very clever expanding a joke in to mini-story. Well done.

Thanks for your review and I appreciate your time to read and comment on the story, lancellot. When my friend told him about the diet and not being a far ass, I just had to write it up. Thanks.

You get five stars for a great enticing title! I'm terribly obedient sometimes. This story read quickly with a funny quip at the end. I didn't notice any glaring SPAG issues.
Nicely done.

Well written witty story about the ever changing state of our health. We all do our best to keep the weight off, but it is hard not to succumb to the temptations of certain foodstuffs. You have made good use of wit and language to convey your message. Cute illustration and an enjoyable read. Faye

Very nice. I was wondering where you were going with this. All that positive news was building to something bad. But I really liked your ending. Very good dialog. Good story.

Cute story with a great punch line. There are some people that put weight on in just one place. It's a peculiar sight! Not sure if this story is autobiographical, but if it is, good luck with the rapid weight loss!

Oh no...I was reading eagerly to find the bottom line of this mystery story. Poor wife, she was mistaken, again; he is not a fat ass or fat head. Funny.

A very funny story, Indy. I love it when every problem has a silver lining. And your title was very effective. (Or maybe I just take direction well?) Enjoyed it! :) nancy

Thanks for reading my story, Nancy, and for your kind review. Thanks for mentioning the title. I could picture the guy waving the paper from the doc at his wife and shouting, "Read this!" Of course I hoped it worked here, too. lol

A very interesting story and the ending was quite funny too. Health issues related to fat are well known and the problem is: taking weight off is difficult while putting it on is easy.
It a tug of war like this husband and wife tale and there are no winners.
He wins today and lose out to weight the next day. Looks like the doctor will have to write a few more letters as the case may be, smiles.
Great write and well exprssed.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie. :))

Ah, and if only it were so easy! Though the truth is, I am a fat and a fat ass and no doctor could ever suggest different.
Nice little tale with a very funny ending.
Peace, Lee

Thanks for reading my little story, hw, and for your kind review. With my luck, the only paper I'd get from my doc is one confirming I helped send his kids to Harvard. Thanks.
