It is indeed a bit of fun! I love Uncle Buck. Crusty, but caring. Lots of bawdy humor, especially "guessing" about the underwear. A good read.

A suggestion:

I would love to see her butt-ass naked on a poll,"(I think you want "pole" here, not "poll".)

Hi there! I just wanted to leave a review to say that I really enjoyed this cute, humourous piece. It certainly was different from Superman's original upbringing! Thank you for sharing!

Splendid twist of fate story. The characters are believable especially Clarke with his innocence view of the world and complete trust in Uncle Buck. The theme you presented is one to think about and not only for fictional characters but for me, you and everyone. How much are we influence in our thoughts, careers everything from who raised us? And different would we turn out if someone else raised us? Thousands of questions. Wonderful story. I hope you take another fictional character down this road.

Thank you very much. You are right we are influenced greatly by those who bring us up. Another character, I think I have one in mind. Maybe Wonder Woman.

This is fantastic, with so much voice. You write with such a "twinkle in your eye".. At first I thought this story was going to be about John candy, who played Uncle Buck in the movie with the same title...I think it is ""pole", not poll.

Thank you very much. Yes, he was loosely modeled after John. Yes, it should be pole. I missed that one in the editing.

What an interesting thought to consider. I had fun reading this little alternate timeline where Clark's parents are killed and he is raised by the unconventional Uncle Buck.

Holy Uncle Buck, Batman. Heh heh. This was one helluva story, my friend. You obviously know by now that I love comics and especially ole' Supes and this tale was absolutely hilarious.
You really got into young Clark's head and showed enough of the man we know he would be and still kept him an impressionable kid.
This was the most fun I've had reading a Superman story in a loooong time. Stupid DC reboot. :)

Thank you very much. Yeah, the reboot thing doesn't always work. I'm glad you liked it. I'm thinking of doing another one. Not sure who yet.

This was entertaining and seemed realistic for what it was. I always thought young Clark should make use of his powers, but the Kents were stuffy and had far too much morality! LOL!

Thank you very much. Yes, I agree they were written too nice. That's not normal, well maybe it is in Kansas.

Fun story. Great dialogue, especially Uncle Buck. I like the idea of blending two well known characters and see what happens and where they go, I enjoyed this, cheers Judester

An interesting twist on Clark's upbringing...

Some possible revisions:

Add ? mark: "What If Uncle Buck raised Superman(?)"

It felt like a dream(,) at best(,) or at worst(,)a twisted nightmare

Clark, had always tried to be a good son, so when the tornado siren went off, and the teacher hustled his class into the storm shelter, even though no wind, no matter how strong could hurt him, he willingly went down with them. (this is pretty long, with more than one subject; consider dividing.)

Clark looked up at (Uncle Buck-his only family-) with amazement(;)for the first time since

don't start with, "In fact," it qualifies the previous words, which are in a closed sentence. I would drop it, and go with something like, "Buck even seemed.....used them, providing he was careful." - You have: "Provided he was careful." (an incomplete sentence.)

I liked this analogy: "The way I see it, Clark, you having super powers is like Hank Aaron being a god at baseball. It would be just as much a sin for you not to use your gifts, as it would be to tell Hank to lay down a bunt."

Please re-read: Clark was explaining what he had learned in history class when in walked Lana Lang and her mother, Rachelle. Rumor around town was that before she was pregnant with Lana, Rachelle was a fashion model in Metropolis. This was widely believed because both mother and daughter were considered the most beautiful females in town, and the fact that there was no Mister Lang. I'm not sure what was "widely believed:" that Rachelle got pregnant(when single, maybe)? or that she was a fashion model? or that they were the most beautiful? or there was no husband?

It seems a bit odd that Clark can talk about a "thong," but calls it "a thingy," also, that he gets "red" and "warm" when overhearing that he's "cute." (just a thought)

The sportscaster's related interview could use some edits -- "with tears in his eyes" didn't sound right; maybe, "the kid was all choked up, talking about his folks," (or something like that.

Good luck with your writing.
