Fantastic spiritual piece you have written. Your AABB rhyming is perfect and the rhythm flows well keeping the reader focused on the message. Perfect poem for today.

Best line: God's name is love, who gave His son, to die for all - it's finished - done. And yet it was only the beginning. He died that we may live, a pity we have taken His gift so precious and forgotten to thank the Father. Today, churches are empty except for the faithful - Jesus is just a swear word in so many mouths. This Easter let us give thanks to the Father every day. Well done friend.

Thank you Kaye, for your comprehensive and affirming review, Jesus must bring much comfort! Scripture says there will be a great " falling away " in the last days, so you are right! Bless you my friend! Blessings, Roy.

I'm not religious but I can see the greatness in this poem. Some of the lines I didn't necessarily understand until I read your author's notes though, I must admit. Congratulations on uploading such a good piece and also, happy Easter to you and your family! :)

The poem with the picture of a man with blood over all his face depicts Jesus Christ who was crucified. I liked the poem. Written in iambic pentameter, the rhyme and rhythm is nice.
The citation of things that had happened in the beginning of the poem adds to the theme of the poem. I saw some figures of speech in there. The dolphins cries its deathly calls.
Congratulations. Dom

I admired your timely and inspirational poem. I enjoyed your rhymed couplets in these quatrains. Your bookends in the first and final stanzas describing natural events are quite effective. Happy Easter evening- Joan

Roy, I found your home truly inspirational and stimulating and when showing here inventiveness and creativeness. I found your also your rhyming couplet quatrains very well written and your rhymes with neither forced, labored or strained and your rhythm flowed so smoothly throughout your poem. I would like to thank you for your author's notes which helped With the lines of your poem by exhibiting the Proverbs. Also your picture complemented your poem also. Thank you for sharing and posting your work for others and may the Lord be with you on this Easter Sunday.

Your poem is beautifully written Roy. It is here on the right day. It looks to the act of redemption by Jesus through his death on the cross, asking why people don't embrace the gift of this act, why his death does not impact on their consciousness. Roy, to be honest your first and last verses, while gorgeous in their poetic value, and obviously the bookends of your message, have me struggling to explain their exact meaning. I'll have a go, but I'm sorry if this is wrong. These are all deaths of innocence and of nature. They may happen at some point in time, yet go unnoticed. This killing of Jesus happened in obscurity too. It was just one of many brutal killings perpetrated by the Romans. Yet his death has changed the world and the prospects of humanity. You may be asking why is it that people see the death of the saviour in much the same way as the unheralded death of the sparrow or the flower. Lovely poetry.

Hi Mark, it's more in man's life being like a vapour, it's evangelical in nature, we don't know when our life will be required, not to be caught short. The 5 wise Virgins and the 5 unwise virgins explains it best! But thank you for this comprehensive and supportive review. Blessing, Roy.
