This is a beautifully written work in the crucifixion of our Savior. This is my most dramatic line "A man is bound, betrayed, condemned/Is scourged, thorn crowned, then cursed, and damned..." Wow.

Roy, this is an exceptional write with original treatment of the crucifixion. The word choices are powerful and filled with meaning that the innocent do die. Well done, my friend.:0 GracieAnn

Thank you Gracie, for this most affirming of reviews that one can get! My pastor wants me to read this out in church this week!
I had a review where the reviewer gave me five stars, and then said Jesus death and resurrection was a myth! How about that! Well I prayed for him! I just thanked him, he must have been looking for a reaction! Good to hear from you again! Blessings, Roy.

Jesus' death is shaded in mythological thought. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is good imagery.

What a highly visual poem Roy. Everything you describe is akin to words being used as a paint brush. There was a most interesting rhythm to the way you wrote this most dramatic piece. xx Carol

Thank you Carole, for your visiting and giving such a generous review. I guess poetry is like that, painting pictures, making images with words! So I'm not sure why we use artwork, just in case our poetry is cryptic or abstract! Thank you so much, I know the cost for you! I appreciate it! Blessings, Roy.

You are so very welcome my friend and thank you for what you said but there was no cost to me at all. I used to believe that our words should be sufficient and artwork should not be needed but I have learned that the right artwork adds to the presentation of the whole piece. It will NEVER help a badly written poem but it can help with the overall look and it can also interest potential readers to read the piece. xx Carol

I do actually agree with you Carole, I can review others work without bias, not agreeing with the content, but in the quality of the presentation! The few exceptions, are the ones that challenge temptation, not judging them, but not wanting to vex myself! I do like yours though, you write with depth and perception! Bless you, Carole.

Thank you for your lovely message Roy. I must admit to you that I don't understand why the temptation to do things that surely we were intended to do, (though I understand there are certain provisos), is such a terrible thing but I totally accept that for you, it is. I have a couple of other friends here who feel the same as you do and we all respect one another. xx Carol

The artwork is so real for these words that happened.

Jesus came to earth to teach us about God and Life.

To stress the importance of the word love not hate

Within our world.

He died on the cross for us all.

Dear Roy, this is such a touching and well delivered poem. It flows like a sermon on the death, the willing sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, while we were yet sinners. Thank you for writing and sharing this one. :-) Carolyn

This poem is nicely put together and supported by scripture. It is a timely piece for this season of redemption and new beginnings.

A poem rich in imagery all relating to life and death and the relationship between the two. Does the shadow of death give life glory? Most of us lead ordinary lives until we are faced with the unanswerable question in face of the unanswerable question. And this is what this poem is all about. Even Christ cried out; "Ah Lord, why hast thou forsaken me." As for the poem: I like your first and last verses best. -Ekim777

To royowen,
An incredible poem describing the Savior's death; that we might not forget that just like a flower that withers and dies so do we---unless you are a born-again Christian.
As to Jesus our days are numbered, 1000 to 1 day and vs.

You've got the meaning of the poem in one. It was really written not only to encourage believers but that those that are standing at the foot of the cross to make a decision, thank you so much for your uplifting and affirming review,. Blessings, Roy.
