My first reaction is what a lovely brightly coloured setting and your quatrains describe perfectly a beautiful Easter flower patch with magenta rambler rose . Love the - prettify and preen -
A really cheery, colourful read Brooke.

Easter, the thought of spring is in the air. The colors are dancing everywhere. Green grass climbs high and flowers of every color, "Spring."

Each blade of grass, a minty green,
is growing, oh so high,
as if it has a goal to reach
blue periwinkle sky. Omit 'the' Use a value word
Each bright magenta rambler rose love the rolling 'r's
that grows among the green,
behaves as if her life exists
to BEAUTIFY and preen.
The flowers SEEM to congregate
STRIKING A POIGNANT pose,
as they show off THEIR finery
of brand new Easter clothes.
Loved the piece. Suggestions only. No disrespect intended.

How fun! I love all the alliteration and the the use of of color makes this feel very springy. The rhyme scheme is lovely, of course, with excellent meter. I particularly like the imagery of flowers coming to congregate.
Once again, beautifully done, always a pleasure to read your work:)

Brooke,
You have such beautiful and refreshing images in this piece!
Great use of alliteration:
rambler rose
grows...green
prettify and preen
come to congregate.
Good use of personification in the flowers congregating and striking a pose.
Great rhythm in this poem.
Enjoyed it!

I really like your Easter poem, Brooke, especially the metaphor of flowers "showing off the finery of brand new Easter clothes."
Love the use of "prettify" as a verb and the P-alliteration with "preen"
It's so hard to come up with a new color for the sky, but "periwinkle" is a dandy choice of adjectives. Rod

Very cute and fitting poem for Easter time. And, I love the bunny picture of Sawyer too, what a great idea! I might steal it for the preschool ;) Thanks!

Anita, thanks so much. I'm sure Miranda already stole the idea from some crafts or parenting web site :-) Brooke

You must always be in a good mood, because you write about such happy things. Since my garden is still saying 'WTF was that' after this past winter, your poem reminded me of our local grocery store and the amazing floral department that is currently loaded with all kinds of spring flowers in bloom.
I love how you've incorporated the colour words, too. A sweet read, Brooke!

Hi, Brooke.
It is a lovely poem--colorful(of course!) and interesting.
All the colors that you have mentioned are all a part of my favorites. I still love crayons...LOL.
Your words have strong imagery and smooth flow, as always due to excellent rhyming and consistent rhythm and meter.
Each bright magenta rambler rose
that grows among the green,
behaves as if her life exists
to prettify and preen.
Excellent use of R consonance, and alliteration of G,P,R.
Your words set up a beautiful garden-scene.
The ending is so positive and cheerful:
The flowers come to congregate
and strike their brightest pose,
as they show off the finery
of brand new Easter clothes.
Nice touch of personification here to enhance their liveliness. They surely seem to be enjoying Easter as well. :)
Warm regards,
Anupam
