What a colourful tribute to the Easter floral show.I am glancing outside at the periwinkle sky, a more magical description than plane blue.I love your alliteration of prettify and preen.

This is a share with my first graders poem. I'm struggling this year with getting them to enrich their writing with adverbs and adjectives, and to use different words that mean the same thing to express the writing more. I get the same old sentences. 'That was fun.' Not overly expressive.

Barbara, thank you so much, my friend - I love it when you share :-) How sad that these children have not been exposed to the richness of language. It's hard to be expressive when it's not what you're raised in. Brooke

This was really nice and it had an Easter theme, I liked the alliteration in prettify and preen, and the art work really enhanced the writing, great work,

So sweet, Brooke. Just a few months past Sawyer learned to speak and now he's remembering words lie "magenta and periwinkle." Time flies.
It's a happy little poem and I enjoyed reading it. Happy Easter, my friend.

What a great way to use colors and teach children. I especially liked the phrase "and strike their brightest pose" and showing off their Easter clothes. Miss those days when we all got dressed up for Easter, beautiful dinner with family but that's just a memory now. Happy Easter adewpearl

The flowers come to congregate
and strike their brightest pose,
as they show off the finery
of brand new Easter clothes.
This is so lovely, Brooke - and the picture of Sawyer as
a Easter bunny is just too cute.

Cute poem; I liked the pace and meter.
Your last verse was the strongest:
The flowers come to congregate
and strike their brightest pose,
as they show off the finery
of brand new Easter clothes.
How lovely to put them in that context.
Good luck with your writing.
