Outstanding Petrarchan sonnet that reads beautifully and carries a message that is sublime - why pretend when we can be real. Loved those touches of alliteration, like: lacework leaves, dream down, people's plight, out on our, chose could careen, and wild with. Nice assounouce to: we be, ghostly tree, dreams wreathed on mystery, curtains across,. Masterly done.

Glorious! I love it to pieces. The majestic octet, exhorting us to thrill to nature's glories ... then the crushing sestet, lambasting us for having chosen such puny, ersatz thrills. And the Art Work is downright inspired!

This is all beautifully written, but especially the conclusion:
Why choose the shadow when we could careen
Wild with the stars and fly brave through the night?
It's a wonderful sonnet and I'm so glad you shared it with us here at FanStory.
Blessings,
Janet

I think the picture that you have here to portray reality tv is EPIC. A great write on these shows. I rarely engage in reality TV, especially if its filled with ignorance like most of them are.

Wow, now this is imagery evoked! What a fabulous poem! I love the questioning nature of this sonnet too - it involves the reader so well!

I am inspired by this poem. I see some figures of speech
evoked in this poem, some metaphors and personification.
Beautifully expressed, I love this poem. The metaphor and personification in the first stanza speaks well of the
writer's expertise: "As the moon spills through the ghostly sea.... And draws around her limbs... light through the golden sea... And the ending: "Wild with the stars and fly brave through the night?" Congratulations. Dom

Great commentary, and still, so many would rather watch someone else's perceived reality, than to live, enjoy, invent their own! We turned our cable off...I never watched it, and the news made my husband ballistic, ha ha....loved this!
