Good job. This was short, while staying in the pacing and meter, you communicated a logical, important message. Good luck on your writing. ~healfromwithin

Susan, I simply loved your short statement and poem. I gather from your author's notes also that your picture really complements your poem and that your poem in itself is very creative and illuminative. It also inspired and stimulated me an understanding that truly characteristic aspects of human beings such as spry and not judged. Thank you so much for sharing and posting your work for others and may you had the happiest of Sunday's.

And those designer labels that in vogue today can be passé sooner than anyone realizes. Today's hot fashions statement is something we laugh about -and at- a decade later.
I don't see this attached to a contest, but it seems like there was one recently that it would have done well in. Well done.

I like this poem, because it conveys that people judge off labels, but it is hard to label character. I really enjoyed reading this.

Bravo Nassus dear! I DELIBERATELY NEVER BUY ANYTHING WITH A KNOWN FASHION 'LABEL' - I think that's artificial and repulsive in the extreme, so you echo my sentiments exactly! :)Sharyn

With the constant bombardment of media ads it's no wonder that we herd like cattle to the nearest outlet and grab that item with that special label. Madness. Enjoyed your poem, nassus1957.

Oh so very true and very well said! I'm glad I can't even pronounce the designer of those red bottom stilettos, lol! I know too many who are into labels, and that's all that they'll buy, how sad. Give me a catalogue and I'm happy. I just love how you said, "Thanks God, character doesn't have value tags". What a great post. . .Sharon

My son used to be like that, until he got married! LOL, now the label is hidden! You are right though, people to tend to judge others by their possessions. A perfect 5-7-5 xsx

So true we are often labelled by a label - the clothes you wear and the bags you carry. To some extent many of us are guilty of one of the deadly sins - PRIDE - it is sometimes very evident in the car we choose to drive. People without being aware do judge on these things. As you say thank God character does not have a label - one has to wonder though. Regards Dorothy

Hi nassus1957

Our society loves to attach labels to individuals, often totally wrong and hurtful. Your short verse deals with the other kind, just as false. I wonder what the 'labels' I wear say of me - my wife is constantly complaining that I'm still wearing shirts I bought almost twenty years ago. I tell her they aren't worn out yet ...
