I like your little pieces, Sue - they speak volumes.
I agree with this one totally. Fortunately, I've never been into the snobbery of name brands. Neither have my daughters ... as you say .. thank God!
Have a lovely week, my dear.
Lots of love,

Thanks a lot Sonali, for enjoying my little pieces. I have been bullied many times for not keeping up with branded clothes, but I don't really mind. Only shallow people judge people by labels.

Amen! I'm with you and I refuse to be bullied on this count.

Character NOR the character to be Christlike has any value tags...a very short and powerful point and write. Truthful and insightful.

Oh yes, the important things in life. vanity and status. I love this poem. It really makes a strong statement. (assuming I'm correct about the meaning). Sometimes I miss the mark :/. Love the wording. a pleasure to read!!

I like the idea of how in prose you can take an unlikely character and turn them into a hero and how often the unlikely looking person can have the biggest heart. I could identify with this and you did so much with so much with so few words.

Hi there! This is a very cute, simple piece of work. I enjoyed it and here's nothing I spotted that I would change. It has a good theme to it as well :)

I was never brand conscious except for one pair of shoes - a Johnson & Murphy real codovan dress she I bough as a reward for a promotion in 1987. I Still wear them occasionally to work and plan to wear them the day of my next promotion: retirement
wonderful picture

Thanks Petriesan for resonating with the message of the poem and for sharing your baptism to "brands". God bless.

I love LouisVuitton, but only have a purse, but Tory Burch is hot these days. Michael Kors turned mass market like Calvin Klein. So many labels in skincare too. Clarins works well on my crows feet. But you could get Botox. It's not about the label. It's about how a person takes care of themselves. Some are more elite than others. Does it matter?
I dunno... Happy Easter
Good poem.

Thanks a lot sunnilicious, what you shared is a mouthful, yes, some are more elite than others and they don't mind flaunting them. But I still believe labels don't define people's character. God bless, thanks for stopping by.

I like your outlook on materialistic items and the rhyme scheme between age and fades. One's true self is unable to be purchased but rather nurtured and fertilized with humble experiences.

I am so glad I grew up with home-made clothes. It must be so expensive to have label conscience children and they develop the wrong value system. Your spells it out.
