Congratulations on winning the contest. It was a wonderful entry. The visual imagery is great. Nice work.

Bubbles use to be like the best thing in the world. I'm surprised they're still around. Software captured those bubbles on screen savers long ago.

Happy Easter

For anyone who has played with children with bubble, soap solution, this paints the picture. The outdoor light makes each bubble it's own rainbow.

Hi Indi :) Oh I can SEE this!! My own children run around the garden grabbing at rainbows when we get the bubbles out... in fact, my 6yr old pointed out the rainbows in the bubbles just the other day. There's nothing children enjoy more than bubbles....except maybe balloons and sweeties!
Congratulations on your win - very well deserved :) Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

I had to read this twice. And then the aha, moment. Bubbles produce the rainbow effect when light shines through. And children loves bubbles and will seek to catch and pop them. This is such a beautiful and simple idea. Very well captured in this imagery.

I guess a child had bubbles as part of its Easter basket and had fun blowing those bubbles. Even at my advanced age I still enjoy playing with those and trying to land one on my nose... Nicely done Spud, JohnnyD

Well, I certainly had to read a lot of these to find one that conformed to the stated rules. You have done so with wonderful originality. This is just beautiful. Very well done. I hope the best one (yours) wins for a change. mikey

Thank you, Mikey, for this great review! I appreciate your taking the time to read and share your thoughts. I'm glad you thought I followed the guidelines, and I really appreciate your compliments. I did try to write something a bit different than the usual rainbow, so I'm glad you saw that. Thanks so much!

How very creative and I really enjoyed this haiku. I like the satori as the first line. Oh how I remember my kids doing this when little, and they always spoke of the rainbow in each bubble. They could do this for hours, so I had to stock up on the bottles, lol. I wish you the best in this contest. . .Sharon

This work has reached the exceptional level

Hello Poetrywoman

You've written a fine haiku in good form and in keeping with the elements of excellence in haiku writing. You've formed a concrete image in the mind of the reader with two grammatically connected lines and the satori is spot-on. You've also captured a moment in time, thus not a desk haiku. You have not personified nature.

Well done,
Ray
