Greetings Spiritual Echo,

Hmm... your life in 150 words is summed up by "sink or swim" and "This isn't fair"? What of the joys, the sorrows, the lessons, the wisdom and the accomplishments of your life? Surely, dear Ingrid, there have been a few? ;) Chrisfiore

It depends on whether I hold my physical and earthly accomplishments up to a magnifying glass.

Here's the irony, accept it or not, last year I was a vice president of an international jewellery manufacturer, and when I walked away, people began to sigh, thinking I'd burned out, became a has-been in a fractured system where people measured value through positions of power and sales.

150 words, as a recap, hardly gives those decades credit. It's what was happening inside that bubble that counts.

Oh, I agree, dear friend. But I suspect the prompt was looking for the youthful Ingrid, springing to young womanhood to the adult, the wife, the mother, grandmother, worker, artist, lover, believer, etc. Hell. I might give this 150 words thing a go myself! ;)

And now you humour me--you do realize this isn't a blind contest, don't you?

This is an interesting take on your life, though you categorize it as general fiction. Loved several, though painful, lines:: As he flung me into a quagmire...equated my life with a swimming lesson...sink or swim (poignantly funny)...you always manage to provoke thought and connect with your reader. Fair is in August and it sells pink cotton candy.

I changed the category to biographical non-fiction.

Funny, I started reading your latest chapter and stopped--ram rod hit a wall when you said your daughter was born at 17 ounces. As grandma of a premie, you caused me to reflect, in a single sentence, and I'll go back to the words when I settle my own experience into place and can read without personal memories.
