To visionary1234,
The expressive but somber attitude that has transpired over the progression of time leaves the mind thinking, "what will be will be."
Many nice areas of metaphors used with discretion.

This poem is so sad, but it reminds me of some people. Quite a story you tell here, very well done. Thank you for sharing, quite beautiful, but very sad.

How sad it is when we see that what our family valued so much, falls into disrepair, just as their bodies and minds are doing the same. I understand this completely, as my sister and I watched the slow deterioration in my mother's house keeping abilities, and watched my dad's garden shrivel.

Then you totally understand Dallas - yes, it is VERY hard to watch, my dear. Thank you for your empathic reading, and of course, for your lovely six!

Loved the poem. Despite the complex style, it was a pleasure to read.
Even the landscape stood at attention,[love this line]
'Dark ling' I've learned a new word. [Thanks]

This is quite a sad revelation of the process of entropy; a truth that everything will eventually discover in time. Nothing can escape it's grasp, none are safe from it's embrace. A very prophetic piece.

A wonderful poem about the effects of family and things. And the reality of our finite existence on this planet. May we all do the best we can and learn and grow from our mistakes and experiences. Your poem reflects insights gained, thus growth for yourself and others. Wonderful poetry by a masterful wordsmith.

Hi Sharyn,
your stunning imagery brought memories flooding in... like I could hear the plodding clock and the silence that reverberates the air around it.
Not the way we want to remember things... a crumbling of the past that can never be put back together.
I found this to be amongst the best of your works, but when it comes from such a deep and tender spot from within your soul, the outcome was always going to be exceptional... just outstanding my dear friend... loved everything about every word and sentiment, it left an indelible stain upon my memory.
With our thoughts we create,
a memory of yesterday and a vision for tomorrow,
James xx
p.s.Touching stuff Sharyn, really left its mark.

Wow... I love how you first describe a place with your vivid imagery and then relate the same imagery to your mother, it adds an unexpected twist to it that is both amazing and touching. Great work!

Descriptions, peerless. Humor, plenty. Poem=AMAZING. Another brilliant piece of work. It literally pulled out my mind and I collapsed. The words mixed with the background and the picture, making a powerful poem. Well done. Keep it up! =D

This is a professional rendering and poignantly sad. Your choice of words convey a place of stark coldness where live never got out of the starting blocks. You use sensory details to heighten this message that live should not be a sunless, perfectly placed pillow ....there are no do overs....fabulous poem.
