This is a great poem with an intelligent look at what history has to teach us. I like your use of alliteration with rose resides, it's also good illustrative writing. I also like that you included nature as well as if history and nature are in tune, as they I think they are .

This is a very powerful message presented nicely in a poem. Sadly, very few learn from the past or, worse, create a passive attitude to compensate for wrong deeds done in the past.
