Yes. we should learn from past mistakes
but we have a very short memory and keep
making the same mistakes over and over.
Your beautiful poem is well written and
very profound, it certainly made me think.

Excellent writing my friend.
I wish good luck in the contest.

Your poem provokes many thoughts, not only of the mistakes made throughout History of the world , but of the history of ourselves.

I do agree, we do reap what we sow.

A simple truth, that it seems is the easiest one for us to forget.

The violence of the past seems to repeat itself over and over again because we seem prone to forget history's lessons.

RP this is a balance a-b-a-b near and pure rhyming poem with interesting concepts. I thought it drew an unusual thought about truth in that it is residual and, in a way, alive in those it effects. Human nature teaches us some irrevocable things, as well as, God if we would only listen. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

I read your poem twice to get the most of it. You are quite right to put the past behind us and look to a future which will make our lives better and happier. In the end this will make us healthier in mind and body..

Very accurate piece. It's a shame how much we didn't learn from past mistakes. We keep repeating the same mistakes. Look at our record since 1950. We gave up in Korea and the same thing happened in Viet Nam and there is Afganistan,10 years. We haven't learned much have we ?

Your advice to read aloud accentuates the fine rhythm of your poem. It is sad how little the world seems to learn from history. We seem destined to keep repeating the same mistakes time and again!

You have said it as it is, we should learn from past mistakes, but we should not let them hinder us from finding a better future. Wise words. :) Sandra
