Great work on this. I love the dialogue and idiom you chose for Amos and the others. I mentioned it before, but this really sticks out as the crown jewel in this chapter. You flit around with realism in the dialogue and it helps to push the story forward better than an inner monologue would do.
The characters all stand out in their own way, which is good with a cast of this size. You can easily track each one.
You can feel the scene building to the next chapter. A trick that is needed to keep the story flowing flawlessly and you do that wonderfully.
Great job with this chapter. I can't wait to see what happens to Paige and where this will end up.

Your writings continues to hold my attention. I find the dialogue particularly enjoyable. Your story is well penned Barbara, and flows well as it weaves a fascinating tale around a very disturbing chapter of American history.

Thanks for the pleasure of reading another part chapter of your story. I wish I'd been with you from the beginning. I enjoyable your believable dialog and descriptions as an old Kentucky boy would. Great job. :-)

Hi Barbara:)
Your tie in of Paige's antebellum mansion to the underground railroad is priceless. I'm sure Paige will soon be rescued from the crumbling tunnels is close at hand as the rescuers are guided by Morgan's bark. Does the discovery of the tunnels mean the much anticipated treasure is also nearby?

Love and Irish Hugs for good reading.
