Dear Dallas - I liked your creativity in this post - wonderful rhythm and rhyme that makes this one an easy read.
Let's hope the seeds can have some warm temps to grow......
Thanks for sharing it and good luck in the contest.

You shed your heavy overcoat/ then strip on sunshine' s stage...And then pick up that damn overcoat again. Spring sure is the tease this year. And yes, we are going insane. Saturday- warm for about 6 hours, then back to the same ole cold.

Same back here in Wv. Getting old.

What a delightful way to describe the worst winter is over a hundred years or something close to that. Even in Florida, we have cold days alternating with balmy. The plants are quite confused. Good luck in the contest.

Hello DALLAS01, I don't know if it's spring that's playing hide and seek or if it's winter that's continuing to torture us. Whichever it is, let the game end.
Your poem reads and flows well and has silky rhyming within. Of note:
Your endless game of hide and seek
is driving folks insane
you taunt us with a tasty treat
then frost our window pane.
(How true. Enough already!)
Hoping for the green grass of spring to sprout.
Very good. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Another superb poem, Dallas. You've become one of my favorites poets on this site. I've seen such growth in both your confidence and ability - not that you haven't always been good. It's just that now, it feels like you're taking it to another level.
This cheeky composition is a delightful entry. Good luck in the contest.
Warmest regards, Bev

We have had "fickle" weather in Southern California too but none of your fierce cold. I admired your vivid "Shasta daisy petticoat" and "barren fields need clover" imagery, plus your use of alliteration. Your yearning for spring is compelling in these creative, rhymed quatrains. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Spring really does seem to be playing games
and your poem conveys that beautifully.
Excellent ABAB rhyme. Strong meter
and terrific images support the theme.
